By the initiative of Armenian Ministry of Defense the Harvard Black Sea Security Program Regional Workshop will take place in Yerevan from October 26 - 30, 2008.  The event will be held in partnership of Armenian International Policy Research Group (AIPRG).The primary topic of discussion will be Shared Concerns and Common Approaches to Black Sea and Caspian Sea Security.  The event will host participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States.

National Defense Intelligence College and Georgian Ministry of Defense will host the Third Symposium on Black Sea and Caspian Sea Security Issues. 14.02ICBSS launches an International Symposium on Black Sea

In line with its objectives to promote multilateral cooperation, to foster knowledge and dialogue in and around the wider Black Sea region, the ICBSS is launching an International Symposium as a forum for study and dialogue in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment.

The 2008 ICBSS International Symposium will focus on “The Wider Black Sea Area in Perspective” and is to be held in partnership with the EU-Russia Centre, the Harvard Black Sea Security Program, NATO Public Diplomacy Division, and the University of the Aegean. It will take place on 1-6 July 2008 on the island of Kalymnos, Dodecanese, Greece.

05.10Black Sea Synergy

Ukraine Office of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will organize an international conference on Black Sea Synergy on October 21-23. One of the primary aims of this three-day event is to bring together experts and key decision makers from all Black Sea countries as well as from the EU and the USA, in order to discuss possible future joint projects promoting Black Sea cooperation.

31.07ICBSS Task Force Meeting for a Joint Black Sea Strategy, Rhodes, 6-7 July 2007

International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) started a new initiative.  The Task Force is designed to meet periodically in order to ascertain the possibility of formulating a joint strategy for the development of the wider Black Sea area. A comprehensive strategy would set the framework for addressing regional priorities in the key fields of security and economic-social development. Such an integrated strategy would mirror the needs and priorities of the region and propose means and mechanisms to address them while taking into consideration, among others, the opportunities and possibilities offered by the international community.
